Mark McCarthy began his studies at St. Johns University, graduating with a degree in Biology. He immediately continued with graduate school at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse / Gundersen-Lutheran Healthcare / Mayo Clinic completing the Physician Assistant Program and a degree in Physician Assistant Studies. After wroking professionally as a Physician Assistant for several years, Mark attended University of Minnesota Medical School, completing his medical degree. Dr. McCarthy completed his residency at University of Iowa, Department of Orthpaedics and Rehabilitation followed by a fellowship at Rush University in Sports Medicine.
Dr. McCarthy is a member of several professional societies including American Academy of Orthpaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Wisconsin Medical Society. He is widely published with many articles in publications, participation in books, and has done many presentations.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys baseball, coaching youth sports, and geing in the great outdoors camping, canoeing, hiking and fishing.
